Cisco VPN Client is still working on Windows 10 anniversary update

I just updatet my Windows 10. after rebooting, it notifies me that the Cisco vpn client app had been removed because it is not compatible with the current OS.

But the app is indeed still installed, only not working. I did these steps to recover it, which resemble the original procedure to make VPN Client work in Windows 10:

  1. Go to the Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features, find DNE Update ad select repair (not sure if this step is required, but I did it; if you don’t have the DNE update program, please read my previous post about the VPN Client in Windows 10);
  2. Still in Programs and Features, find Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0.07.0440 and select repair (you might have to unpack vpnclient_setup.msi from vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe to complete the repair);
  3. With RegEdit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA and remove the garbage from the DisplayName value, leaving only Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows.
